Inspiration

"In Love I can become tangled.
In Love I become a girl wanting to be a woman,
I become a chemer and a planner and a play -by-play
ANNOUNCER. In love I am not a still POND or a smooth flying bird. I can clench, prepare, and predict. I wan the LOVE in my life to feel like a deep breath, a blushing laugh, a view across the sea of cortez always expanding wider, glowing, in love we need just the true we need those those WIDE KIND EYES of understanding.
We need Tumbling play
We need to SHOW UP - TO OPEN to TELL THE SWEET RAW, HERE IT IS. We need to show the pjs' before the ballgown.
Tell your love. "

Reflection/Inspiration: As I was cleaning out old documents in my computer. I came across a document I created after reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. An Old Favorite and forever timely!

The Alchemist:
1) It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.
2) It’s the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary; only wise men are able to understand them.
3) At a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That’s the world’s greatest lie.
4) The Soul of the World is nourished by people’s happiness. And also by unhappiness, envy and jealousy. To realize one’s destiny is a person’s only real obligation. All things are one.
5) People learn, early in their lives, what is their reason for being. Maybe that’s why they give up on it so early, too. But that’s the way it is.
6) The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon.
7) The principle of favorability, beginner’s luck. Because life wants you to achieve your destiny.
8) Never stop dreaming. Follow the omens.
9) When you want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it.
10) The closer one gets to realizing his destiny, the more that destiny becomes his true reason for being.
11) Intuition is really a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life, where the histories of all people are connected, and we are able to know everything, because it’s all written there.
12) In alchemy, it’s called the Soul of the World. When you want something with all your heart, that’s when you are closest to the Soul of the World. It’s always a positive force.
13) All things are the manifestation of one thing only.
14) This Soul of the World allowed them to understand anything on the face of the earth, because it was the language with which all things communicated.
15) When he looked into her eyes and saw that her lips were poised between a laugh and silence, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke – the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love.
16) It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world. Without such love, ones dreams would have no meaning.
17) If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it. And, if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better. Forget about the future, and live each day according to the teachings, confident that God loves his children. Each day, in itself, brings with it an eternity.
18) You must understand that love n ever keeps a man from pursuing his destiny. If he abandons that pursuit, it’s because it wasn’t true love…the love that speaks the Language of the World.
19) Wherever your heart is, that is where you’ll find your treasure.
20) People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don’t deserve them, or that they’ll be unable to achieve them. We, their hearts, become fearful just thinking of loved ones who go away forever, or of moments that could have been good but weren’t, or of treasures that might have been found but were forever hidden in the sands.
21) Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up. It’s the point at which, as we say in the language of the desert, one ‘dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon.
22) Your eyes show the strength of your soul.
23) When you are loved, you can do anything in creation. When you are loved, there’s no need at all to understand what’s happening, because everything happens within you, and even men can turn themselves into the wind.
24) That’s what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.

Challenge of the Day: Reflect on your daily, weekly or monthly successes & Celebrate Them! Be good to yourself!

Inspiration/Reflection: I was struggling and feeling challenged at one point during the week... My lovely friend Karla sent me this:

The Guest House:

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Reflection/Inspiration:

A Book I just Recently Finished Reading: New York Times Bestseller My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey by Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph.D.

On Dec. 10, 1996 37 Year Old Harvard trained brain scientist experienced a massive stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. As she observed her mind deterioriate to the point that she could not walk, talk, read, write or recall any of her life - all within four hours -Taylor alternated between the euphoria of the intuitive and kinesthetic right brain, in which she felt a sense of complet well-being and peace, and the logical, sequential left brain, which recognized she was having a stroke and enabled her to seek help before seh was compeltly lost. It would take her 8 years to fully recover.

What I found particularly interesting was Jill's vast academic knowledge and very much Left Oriented Brain prior to the Stroke in combination with her Insight about her Right Side of the brain after her stroke. She has now trained her brain to leave 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening to whine, complain, vent, have negative thoughts etc. But if she misses those times during her day - she does not allow her to think those negative thoughts. Another point that stood out for me: within 90 secs the neural loop for anger, rage, frustration etc. - Within 90 seconds it has gone in and out of our bodies. So we are human, and we can experience all of the emotions that come with being human -but it is OUR CHOICE how many times we replay that loop!!!

The Right Mind:
All about right here, right now.
It is all about the richness of this present moment.
Filled with Gratitude for life and everyone and everything in it.
Content, Compassionate, Nurturing, and Eternally Optimistic.
There is no judgment of good/bad or right/wrong, so everything exists on a continuum of relativity.
Adventurous, Celebrative of Abundance, and Socially Adept.
Sensitive to nonverbal communication, empathic, and accurately decodes emotion.
Open to the eternal flow whereby I exist at one with the universe. It is the seat of my divine mind, the knower, the wise woman, and the observer. It is my intuition and higher consciousness. My right mind is ever prsent and gets lost in time.
Brings me new insight in this moment so I can update old files that contain outdated information.
Open to new possibilitys and thinks out of the box.
It appreciates that chaos is the first step in the creative process.
It is kinesthetic, agile, and loves my body's ability to move fuluidly into the world. It is tuned into the subtle messages my cells communicate via gut feelings, and it learns through touch and experience.
Celebrates its freedom in the Universe and is not bogged dwon by my past or fearful of what the future may or may not bring.
It honors my life and the health of all my cells.
It doesn't just care about my body; it cares about the fitness of your body, our mental health as a socity, and our relationship with Mother Earth.
Our Right Mind Appreciates that every cell contains the exact same molecular genius as the original zygote cell that was created when our mother's egg cell combined with our father's sperm cell.
My right mind understands that I am the life force power of the fity trillion molecular geniuses crafting form!
It understands that we are all connected to one another in an intricate fabric of the cosmos, and it enthusiastically marches to the beat of its own drunk.
My right mind proclaims: " I am part of it all. We are brothers and sisters on this planet. We are here to help make this world a more peaceful and kinder place."
My right mind sees unity among all living entities.

THE LEFT BRAIN is responsible for taking all of that energy, all of that information about the present moment, and all of those magnificent possibilities perceived by my right mind, and shaping them into something manageable.

The Tool I use to communicate with the external world.
The Finest Tools in the universe when it comes to organizing information.
Takes pride in its ability to categorize, organize, describe, judge, and critically analyze absolutely everything.
It thrives in constant contemplation and calculation.
It is a perfectionist and an amazing housekeeper of corporation or home.
Our right mind character values humanity, while our left mind character concerns intself with finances and economy.
A multitasker and loves performing as many functions as it can at the same time
Partially measures its value by how many things it crosses off my dailty to do list.
Its ability to focus on differences and distinguishing characteristics makes it a natural builder.
Particularly gifted at identifying patterns.
It is adept at processing large volumes of information quickly.
One of the most prominent characteristics of our left brain is its ability to weave stories. This storyteller portion of our left mind's language center is specifically designed to make sense of the world outside of us, based upon minimal amounts of information.
Most impressively, our left brain is brillian in its ability to make stuff up, and fill in the blanks where there are gaps in factual data.

Challenge of the Day:
Build Awareness. Find moments where you are choosing to use your Left Brain and where you would be better suited to shift to the right. It is your choice.

Reflection/Inspiration:

Yoga and Meditation for Balance
Honouring the Spring Equinox:

As yoga's goal is union - of mind, body and spirit, but also feminine and masculine aspects of the self - a yoga balance practice is a great ritual for spring equinox.

1.Start your practice with some alternate nostril breathing. It helps to balance both hemispheres of the brain.
2. Sun salutations are a great way to salute the beginning or ending of the day, and what better practice during this season when the days of the sun’s light are growing every day.
3.Some examples of standing balance postures are: the tree, the eagle and the dancer. The tree is particularly appropriate at this time of year, when trees and plant life awaken from their long winter sleep.
4.Another spring-appropriate posture is the Rabbit. Rabbit has often been considered a symbol of fertility because of the abundance of offspring born in a rabbit litter. Going into the pose, reflect upon what you would like to see grow and multiply in your life in the coming fertile months.

"Because we all need a little nostalgic Jazz and inklings of Paris in Spring. Thank you Mr. Parker."

Reflection/Inspiration: How are you? What have you done this week? It comes up constantly. It has ,in the past, been my most unfavorite question. Every day banter and chit chat. Every week is new in learning and living and being human. What did I do this week? I lived for another week as a young woman. I laughed, I cried, I probably had a mini tantrum over something ridiculous - I'm constantly changing. Has anything monumental happened in my life lately - maybe some would say no - no marriage, babies, huge promotions or deaths in my life - but to me everyday is monumental. Everyday is me seeking my places of Joy. The happy moments fleet just as the painful ones do. And then I am left with myself, simply being alive on my journey of self discovery. So, when someone asked me for an update on how I have been this week, I responded with this: I ate an apple. Met a pimpin exchange student from Australia. I'm knocked up and we have decided to move to Borneo to raise our lust baby amongst the orangatans in the wild heat of the jungle. The idea of living and flying through trees has my heart palpitating and me sweating like a motherfucker! So I seem to be alive and well. NOW I am not suggesting you have to use your overactive imagination like I do - BUT find the stories in your life. You are never doing nothing. You are constantly changing. So pick one and take these opportunities to share them.

Challenge of the Day: Practice patience with someone who may challenge you. Take a Breath. And change your thought.

KISS ME YOU FOOL! Kisses AND Green Beer - What can I say? I don't hate it!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!! GREEN governs the HEART chakra.

BALANCE, LOVE, SELF CONTROL. Green chakra relates to love/self love - the ability to give and take unconditionally. When balanced we are able to give love and also to love and nurture ourselves. Helps relax muscles, nerves, and thoughts. Cleanses and balances our energy, to give a feeling of renewal, peace and harmony. Green connects us to unconditional love and is used for balancing our whole being. ( http://www.threeheartscompany.com/chakra.html)
Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Green is a safe color, if you don't know what color to use anywhere use green. (http://crystal-cure.com/green.html)

Green is favored by well balanced people. Green symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It often symbolizes money. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Green eyeshades are still used. You should eat raw green foods for good health. Friday is the day of green. Green jade is a sacred stone of Asia.
Green Energy

Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.

Put some green in your life when you want:

* a new state of balance
* feel a need for change or growth
* freedom to pursue new ideas
* protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others

Reflection/Inspiration:
Green is not naturally a color that I am particularly drawn to. I am drawn to purple, reds, pinks, greys & blues more instinctively. BUT I have to admit it is truly a happy and healing color when I see other people sporting it around time aka my roommate definitely left the house decked in a green hat, scarf, and bag today! I have spent time studying the color green in relation to your heart chakra and my friend Karla has introduced me to the healing power of green crystals such as tourmaline, emeralds & malachite! In the spirit of friendship and opening the heart I am posting a Friendship Blessing, from Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O'Donohue -I know I used him yesterday BUT- I can't resist - he's a poet from County Clare Ireland and is known for his Celtic Spirituality - COME ON - it would be disrespectful not to!

A Friendship Blessing:
May you be blessed with good friend.s
May you learn to be a good friend to yourself
May you be able to journey to that place in your soul where ther eis great love, warmth, feeling and forgiveness.
May this change you.
May it transfigure that which is negative, distant, or cold in you.
May you be brought in to the real passion, kinship, and affinity of belonging.
May you treasure your friends.
May you be good to them and my you be there for them; may they bring you all the blessings, challenges, truth and light that you need for our journey.
May you never be isolate.
May you always be in the gentle nest of belonging with your anam cara.

BEANNACHT
For Josie

On the day when the weight deadens on your shoulders and you stumble, may the clad dance to balance you.

And when your eyes freeze behind the gray window and the ghost of loss gets in to you, may a flock of colors, indigo, red, green and azure blue come to awaken in you a meadow of delight.

When the canvas frays in the curach of thought and a stain of ocean blackens beneath you, may there come across the waters a path of yellow moonlight to bring you safely home.

May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours.

And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, and invisible cloak to mind your life.

Reflection/Inspiration: Decisions. While making decisions has always been difficult for me. Yes - I was the kid at the Milky Way who would nearly leave the ice cream shop with nothing as the mere thought of having to make ONE selection out of what seemed like endless possibilities was far too overwhelming! I always ended up with Vanilla Chocolate Swirl, Chocolate Dipped with Sprinkle Dinkle. Oh how things have not seemed to change that much as I have grown older. Still overwhelmed and excited by possibilities! Yet, at the end of the day - I am learning that they are just choices - right or left, up or down, open or closed. I get to choose. While I have my days where I am still trying to make that 'right' choice - I think it is also becoming clear that there never is one. There is choice & opportunity. Everyone has their own opinion. But somewhere deep in me - there lies my voice. While situations in every day life may sometimes appear complicated - I think it's always the same one.Which choice reaps the most happiness? AND if you try and it doesn't...you try again...waa waaahhhhh :) Actually, I think if you know what you want deep down, every choice will get you there somehow.

Daily Challenge:
Send an email or phone someone you miss or who you haven't spoken to in a long time!
